Creative Arts Center is now offering after school programs starting Tuesday,
March 13th - May 8th from 6-8pm. The program is called ART: 360. These
classes are FREE for High School Students at Wellsville,
Scio, Fillmore, Cuba-Rushford, Whitesville, Bolivar-Richburg, Friendship,
and Portville.
Interested students should talk to their Art or Music teacher at the
their school about enrollment.
Class include:
CERAMICS with Marsha Van Vlack & Rhiannon
Babbit:
Explore wheel throwing, and handbuilding techniques. Students will switch
between topics working on functional forms like teapots. Open to all skill
levels, students will get one-on-one attention to create a variety of
unique forms. Students will gain skills in project management, thinking
spatially and functionally.
LEARN TO PLAY THE GUITAR with Adam Stack:
Learn basic guitar chords, picking and strumming techniques! Students
will study beginning music theory while learning to read guitar tab, basic
rhythms and tunings. No music or guitar experience required, but this
class will also benefit and reinforce basic musical knowledge.
Participating students interested in pursuing art as a possible career
will be eligible to have a one-on-one discussion about their art portfolios
with our experienced instructors. Interested students will gain valuable
and objective information for improving their portfolios, digital slides,
and writing letters of intent to schools, internships, or residencies.
All students may take advantage of this unique opportunity to be with
other creative students from around the community. This is a valuable
opportunity to develop their skills outside the classroom and work with
highly skilled experts. Art: 360 looks great on a resume,
provides portfolio development, strengthens creativity, and provides students
a positive artistic outlet.
